In a Somatic Pet Reading, we go beyond understanding your pet’s instincts and soul-level wishes for you. 1:1, we will also tend to the emotional wounds that keep your nervous system stuck in freeze, fight, flight, or fawn.

Why does this matter?
Because when you’re dysregulated, you’re disconnected from your true self. And when you're disconnected from you, it becomes harder to attune to the animals (and humans) who rely on your presence.

This is about becoming the human your animal knows you can be—safe, grounded, and present. That starts with listening to your body’s innate wisdom.

If you sense your pet’s behavior is reflecting something deeper within you—but you’re stuck in self blame and unsure how to shift it—this work will help you REWIRE negative beliefs and RELEASE emotional blocks so you can move through the seasons of life with more compassion, clarity, and trust.

Your animals don’t need you to be perfect— they need you to listen and respond from a regulated place. When you do, they can thrive right alongside you. 🏡

  • Think of Shay as a radio tuning into the right station—where your animal, acting as your spirit guide, is transmitting the messages you need to hear.

    In our session, we’ll tune in to what your animal wants to share at this moment—about their personality, their physical body (if they are alive), and their perspective on you. You’ll have time to ask questions, and we’ll discover how your animal is guiding you to grow and evolve in this lifetime.

    Shay communicates with your animal telepathically; She will only ask you to share your animal’s name, gender, and species. Your animal does not have to be physically present with you.

  • By tapping into the unseen world and the energy all around us, animals communicate with us at two distinct levels:

    The Physical Level - to share about their day-to-day, environment, or felt sensations.
    The Soul Level - to discover the lessons they are here to teach us.

    Often, our pet challenges (at the physical level) are indicative of the soul lesson they want you to learn.
    We will explore both in our session together.

  • Anything you’d like! However, keep in mind that the reading is led by your animal, so the answers you receive will reflect what they feel is most important to share in the moment.

    The quality of your questions shapes the depth of the answers. Questions driven by control, certainty, or a specific outcome often lead to vague or limited responses. But when asked with openness and curiosity, the guidance expands.

    While intuitives can help prepare you for likely outcomes, the future is never guaranteed.

    Here are some common questions as inspiration:

    • What does she want me to know about her daily routine?

    • How does he feel about another pet in the house?

    • Can they share thoughts on their new food?

    • How can I best support this stray or wild animal?

    • Why is this foster animal behaving like this?

  • On rare occasions, an animal may not wish to connect at the start of a session. If that happens, I will let you know right away and we won’t proceed with the reading. You’ll then have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

    This ensures your animal’s boundaries are honored.🤍

  • Be in a quiet, private space where you feel safe and can focus without distractions.

    Consider what question(s) you would like guidance on from your animal companion.

    Photos are not necessary. Animals present themselves in a variety of ways to get the message across. Come with an open mind and sincere heart. Let’s see how your furry friend shows up!

  • The reading is intended for the single individual who booked the session, so we will focus on one bond.

    With that said, if you are comfortable with another person in the room with you (such as the 2nd pet parent), then they are permitted to observe only.

    Please note that the messages that come through can be sensitive. Having another energy present may influence what your pet shares and/or how you receive the messages.

  • One referral can change someone's life. With that said, due to the sensitive nature of a soul level reading, I discourage booking a session for another person.

    This is because I view your bond with your animal as sacred. The readee will also get more out of a session when they choose the timing. Permission and readiness is very important to me.

  • After your pet reading, we'll take what came through and work directly with your nervous system to integrate it.

    I'll guide you through gentle, body-based practices (breathwork, visualization, psycho-somatic techniques) to help rewire your response to triggers and release what's been stored in your body.

    You'll leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to both yourself and your animal.

    When you add somatic healing, we extend your session by 30 minutes specifically so this work has space to land.

  • “The body remembers what the mind forgets.”

    Unlike talk therapy, this is felt-sense healing. Your nervous system learns through experience, not logic, and this work helps you feel the shift, so it sticks!

    In the wild, animals instinctively release stress to avoid trauma.
    We can do the same, by listening to the body, creating a sense of safety, and gently releasing what’s been stored.

  • Shay is a certified Integrative Change Worker with specialized training in somatic healing, subconscious re-patterning, and conversational hypnosis.

    Her approach blends intuitive connection with practical tools (including breathwork, movement, visualization, and parts work) to gently support your nervous system’s return to calm and safety.

    Each session is tailored to what you need in the moment, with the intention of helping you feel supported in your self-healing and empowered to use these tools beyond the session.

  • Absolutely. Shay works with the unconscious mind, which she views as synonymous with the body. When we explore what the unconscious mind shares as relevant, emotions that have been stored in your body will likely surface so they can be released.

    This is part of the healing process—and it's very different from re-living trauma. Releasing in a safe space with someone you resonate with, someone who can guide you to give yourself what you need, is key to healing.

    If Shay resonates with your nervous system, that's a good sign. She’ll gently support you through whatever arises without shame because she believes you are capable of change. No perfection required.

  • We all experience grief differently and in our own timeline. To help you make this decision, please ask yourself these questions:

    • Am I feeling ready or reactive?

    • Will I be open and receptive to the messages at this time?

    Because each reading is led by the animal, the beautiful thing is that they know where you are in your grief. They want you to do right by you.

    The Somatic Healing add on will be tremendously beneficial for honoring & releasing feelings of grief.

  • Keeping your body warm is essential for maintaining a receptive state, allowing the session to fully integrate. Treat your body, mind, and spirit with tenderness and care in the hours that follow.

    Best practices:

    • Stay warm with blankets, cozy clothes, tea, or a warm shower.

    • Hydrate and allow yourself to slow down.

    • Spend time in nature, stretch, keep it simple.

    • Prioritize rest and go to bed early.

    Avoid until the next day:

    • Overthinking, journaling, or making big decisions.

    • Social media, heavy conversations, or large gatherings.

    • Intense mental or physical activity.

    If you have work, take it slow and avoid high-energy commitments. Let your body lead the integration process.
